Program Description:  The presentation will provide an overview of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for insomnia. It will also discuss the efficacy and highlight issues pertaining to its implementation in general practice.

This is a good opportunity to address this clinical challenge. Please join us.

Learning Goals:

  1. Become familiar with the components of CBT for insomnia. 
  2. Understand the new guidelines for the treatment of insomnia in primary care.
  3. Appreciate the challenges of treating insomnia that is comorbid with other medical and psychiatric disorders.
About the Presenter:
Dr. Rachael Manber is a professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Stanford University as well as the Director of the Stanford Sleep Health and Insomnia Program (SHIP). Rachael is a clinician, teacher, researcher, writer and speaker with years of experience in the sleep area. She also has Board Certification in Behavioral Sleep Medicine by the American Board of Sleep Medicine. She has published widely. We are fortunate to have such an authority give this program. Sleep issues seem to be pervasive. 

Workshop Logistics:
The meeting room is on the third floor next to the cafe with free parking below the building. Take the Main Elevator. Meeting time is 12-2:00 PM with the first 15 minutes reserved for signing in and networking. The presentation starts at 12:15 PM following announcements. 1.5 CEUs will be offered for LCSWs - members earn credits at no cost. Credits for non-members is $15 per meeting.
