Description: 20% of civilian adults (40% of veterans) in primary care settings suffer from insomnia . Join us to learn how this simple behavioral intervention can improve insomnia symptoms in most adults within 6-8 weeks.

Learning Objectives: Participants will learn:

  • DSM-V Criteria for Insomnia
  • How Sleep is Regulated: 2 Processes
  • Four-Factor Model of Insomnia
  • Understand the importance of a comprehensive Sleep Assessment.
  • Identify sleep-related clinical measures used in the assessment process.
  • Overview of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I).
  • Case Study of CBT-I application
  • Learn about training and consultation resources to become a CBT-I provider.

CEUs: 1.5 CEU hours for LCSW’.s, MFT’, and LPC’s. Note: Registered Associate Clinical Social Workers -- as long as your supervisor approves participation, you can now use CEs toward LCSW hours

The San Diego Chapter of CSCSW holds its meetings on the first Thursday of the month from September through June  from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Jewish Family Service building, 8788 Balboa Avenue in Kearny Mesa. Meetings begin with a half hour of mingling, networking, and community building, followed by our program. CEU programs meet the requirements for 1.5 hours of continuing education credit for MFTs, LPCCs, and LCSWs as specified by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences; CEUs are FREE to our members.
