About Me

Please describe your professional experience (this will be used on Therapist Finder)
Describing my professional experience and expertise over time as both a clinician and organizational consultant is a thought-provoking exercise. While I concentrated earlier in my career specifically on honing my clinical skills, taking many psychoanalytically-oriented courses and participating in clinical consultation groups, I have had work experiences which equipped me with knowledge/expertise in both clinical and business management/ organizational issues. I have worked in numerous professional social work arenas including ones considered "traditional" and "non-traditional," and many times performed duties in different professional arenas simultaneously. Following are types of work settings where I developed both clinical and organizational expertise working with clients of all ages across the lifespan: Family Service Agency; Child Welfare/Psychiatric Child/Adolescent and Family Residential Treatment Center; Public Child Welfare/ Adoption Agency; Private Adoption Agency; In-Patient/Out-Patient Teaching Hospital-Based Medical Social Work; In-Patient/Out-Patient Teaching Hospital-Based Adult, Adolescent and Autistic-Spectrum Adolescent Psychiatric Treatment Facility- Preschool, Supplemental Educational and Residential Group Home Agency for Developmentally Challenged Clients of pre-school through adult ages; In Patient/Out-Patient Addictive Disease and Eating Disorder Treatment Facilities for Adolescents and Adults; HMO-Operated Out-Patient Counseling Treatment Facility;
Private Practice, in operation, known as "A Relationship Specialist at Home, School and Work," I work with clients of all ages providing "trauma informed/trauma responsive" individual, couple, family and group psychotherapy; divorce-custody-visitation coaching/counseling; legal assessments with recommendations for court-related proceedings re: divorce, adoption, immigration hardship, abuse and elder abuse, and "alternative sentencing;" psycho-educational workshops on relationship and other mental health/wellness related issues; clinical supervision; development/delivery of professional CEU training; Private Employee Assistance and Organization Consulting Practice,
in operation, which includes assessment and referral of troubled employees, management coaching/training/ consulting; assessment and remediation of systemic organizational issues; organizational development; program design and implementation; workplace trauma, violence and transition response, recovery and training; development/ delivery of employee /management training on work and mental health-related topics. Due to the breadth and depth of my practice experience and expertise, I was asked by USC School of Social Work to teach first year graduate students in "Social Work Practice." I segued from that USC teaching role to developing/delivering training for the "University Consortium of Children and Families (UCCF)," which develops and provides training for Child Welfare Workers throughout California.
